September 25 2022
Charles L. Capps, Jr. Charles Lindy Capps, Jr., age 65, of Pleasant Grove passed away on September 25, 2022. He was born January 31, 1957 in Birmingham, AL to Charles L. Capps, Sr and Virginia Gibb Capps. In his life, he worked as a painter and a pipe fitter and retired from U.S. Steel after 28 years of service. Charles was affectionately known as Bubba to family and friends. He felt the greatest title he ever had was “Uncle Bubba” to his nieces and nephews. He thought they were all brilliant and talented and he loved to talk about them to anyone who would listen. He attended many sporting events, dance recitals, plays, parties and graduations. He always wanted to be front and center in their lives. He loved to tease them and had special jokes with each one. They were truly the lights of his life. He was really looking forward to the birth of his great niece in December. Bubba also loved spending time with his family and friends, cheering on the Crimson Tide, and taking care of his dog Trudy. Bubba is survived by his siblings Mary Hardin, John Capps and his children Wes (Emma), Mitchell (Lori), Julia and Robbi Liddell (Stuart) and their children Virginia and Sarah. He was always dedicated to and protective of his siblings. He had a big heart and was well loved by all who knew him The visitation will be from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, Friday, September 30, 2022, at Peoples Chapel Furenal Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
