He spoke fondly of his neighborhood paper route and was proudly involved in Boy Scouts, even taking a train to California to attend the Boy Scout Jamboree. Chuck obtained his degree at General Motors Institute and was a member of the Phi Tau Alpha fraternity. On his 18th birthday, he began his 44 year career with General Motors/AC Delco, where he worked in management roles in Michigan, Belgium, and Canada. General Motors is where he met the love of his life, Lynn. They married in 1960 and raised three children. In retirement, Chuck and Lynn enjoyed 20 beautiful years living in Harbor Springs, Michigan. They loved playing golf and the many friends they made at Birchwood Farms Golf & Country Club. He proudly served as a member of the Board at Birchwood. Genealogy became a passion and he extensively researched the Fife family history. Chuck ushered at Holy Childhood of Jesus and thoroughly enjoyed the Birchwood Men’s Bible Study Group. Chuck and Lynn loved to travel and they took many wonderful trips and cruises together, including to Europe, Mexico, Australia, and Africa. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, golf, and crossword puzzles. He loved animals, especially his dear shih tzu Molly. Chuck loved to share stories and spend time with his family. His famous homemade Thanksgiving stuffing was a family favorite! He was loved dearly and will be fondly remembered. A Memorial Mass for Chuck will be held in the near future.
