Ann Pennington, 78, of Wilmington, NC passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born to Emerson Edward Tetzloff and Anna Eugenia King Tetzloff on March 13, 1944, in New Hanover County. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Paul Terry Pennington, and her great-granddaughter Emilynn Ann Vandiford. C.C. is survived by her son, Edward ‘Scott’ Pennington, of Wilmington, NC; Daughter Paula Teresa (Teri) Heustess and husband David of Wilmington, NC, Granddaughter’s: Brittany Whitaker and husband, Dennis; Cierra Heustess and Abigail Heustess; April Valle; Brandy Lane; Destiny Pennington; and Grandson, Joseph Pennington. Her great-grandchildren: Cayden and Ethan Whitaker; Dakota and Jaxon France; Natalie and Vincent Valle; Sister, Sandra Tetzloff Parker and husband, Larry, of Castle Hayne, NC. Through Paul’s Army career their family traveled and made homes in Germany, Louisiana, Georgia, Texas, Kentucky, Washington, California, Virginia, and C.C. settled back in North Carolina following Paul’s death. Everyone who knew C.C. knew of her love for fur babies which led to her career in the veterinarian and animal control field where she retired from in 1996. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the American Society for the Prevention and Cruelty of Animals (ASPCA) in memory of Cecilia Pennington. The family invites friends to a visitation on Saturday, December 3rd, 10:00 am at All Saints Anglican Church, 2623 N. College Road, Wilmington followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 am.
