Carolyn Sue (Cully) Telgemeier, 71, of Odessa, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 7, 2022, at NorthCare Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri surrounded by family. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022 at Greenton Baptist Church, 9345 Greenton Rd., Odessa, MO 64076. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022 at the church. Interment will be in Greenton Cemetery. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO 64076, 816-633-5524. Carolyn was born on February 5, 1951 in Humansville, MO to Robert “Weldon” and Wanda Louise (Garland) Cully. She graduated in 1969 from Fort Osage High School in Independence, MO. On August 22, 1969, she was united in marriage to Norman Wayne Telgemeier in Levasy, MO. They eventually moved to a farm in Odessa, MO in 1978 where they started a family and raised their three kids. Carolyn was a homemaker while her children were young. As they grew older, she made sure they were involved in sports and other activities and was an enthusiastic supporter of each. She was a Girl Scout in her youth and a Girl Scout leader for her daughters’ troops. She was often pursuing creative hobbies such as oil painting, china painting, and calligraphy. Carolyn had a passion for horses and dogs. Through the years, Carolyn and Norman raised Quarter Horses, Australian Cattle Dogs, and Welsh Ponies. Family was extremely important to Carolyn. She had close relationships with her parents and siblings. She was also very proud of her grandchildren. She loved spending time with each of them and enjoyed attending their various activities. Carolyn retired in 2014 after 20 years with the State of Missouri, Child Support Enforcement Office. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Norman Telgemeier of Odessa, MO; three children, Lisa Halstead and husband Lee of Odessa, MO, Ryan Telgemeier of Odessa, MO, and Katie Martin and husband Tyler of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren, Asher and Allison Halstead, Mack, Layla, and Everly Martin; one sister, Marilyn Nixdorf and husband Vic of Odessa, MO; and two brothers, Howard Cully and wife Judy of Independence, MO and Ron Cully and wife Janet of Lee’s Summit, MO; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
