Carolyn’s Obituary Carolyn Louise Laws Garnes, age 79 of Hickory passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Westwood Hills of Wilkesboro. She was born December 22, 1942 in Caldwell County to the late George Laws and Joan “Joanie” Cook Laws. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Billy Garnes, and one sister, Reba Jean Ruppert. Carolyn was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed by everyone that knew her. She was a hard worker and enjoyed life to the fullest. Survivors include two sons, Larry Garnes and wife Cynthia of Lenoir and Bradley Garnes and wife Sonia of Lenoir; two daughters, Renee Garnes of Lenoir and Lena Garnes of Valdese; one sister, Shirley McNeil and husband Henry of Lenoir; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be Monday, October 17, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Clearview Baptist Church with Rev. Ric Smith officiating.
