C. Merton “Mert”‘s Obituary Charles Merton Anderson, age 95, of North Mankato, passed away, Saturday, October 29, 2022, at his home. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 4, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church, Mankato. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Thursday at Northview – North Mankato Mortuary and will continue hour before service on Friday at the church. Interment will be in Woodland Hills Memorial Park, Mankato. Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church or Mayo Clinic Hospice – Mankato. www.mankatomortuary.com Charles Merton “Mert” was born April 25, 1927 to Anton and Ida (Lundgren) Anderson in Winthrop, MN. He completed his 8th grade education at District 46 School in Sibley County. He married Darlene Linn on September 26, 1953, in Fairmont and they later divorced. Mert farmed for many years. Mert founded the Year-A-Round Cab Corporation in 1967. He manufactured tractor cabs, farm equipment, and metal fabrication for government contracts. He was President/CEO until the company discontinued in 2012. Mert was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed engineering, fabrication, and creating things. Mert wintered in Mesa, Arizona for many years and enjoyed his many friends and activities there. He especially enjoyed it when his children and grandchildren came to visit. Mert is survived by his son, Charlie (Kathy) Anderson of Spirit Lake, IA; his daughters, Cindi (Pete) Baker of Mankato, Carmen (Albert) Rist of North Mankato, and Christin Anderson of Dewey, AZ; seven grandchildren, Cory (Michelle) Anderson, Cari (Pat) Krenik, Patrick (Claire) Baker, Chandra (Brock) Petersen, Troy Stransky, Chad (Lauren) Stransky, and Roxanne Rist; two step grandchildren, Karl (Nikki) Buggert and Kayla (C.J.) Siewert; eleven great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mert was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Curtis L.
