Brian L. “Bubba” Eckerd, 49 years of Cahokia, IL., passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at St. Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO. He was born June 17, 1972, in Red Bud, IL. Bubba had worked as a truck driver. He loved having shooting parties and to go 4 wheeling. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Bonnie (Fred) Woods, his son, Austin Eckerd, his sister, Dana (Roy) Staub, his step-sisters, Lynette Woods, Carolyn Woods and Cleta Dawn “Sissy” Jones, his step-brother, Derick (Cheryl) Woods III, along with aunts, uncles, numerous nieces & nephews and great nieces & great nephews as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy M. Eckerd, his aunt, Brindia Chaney, his paternal grandparents, Howard and Mary Elizabeth Eckerd and his maternal grandparents, Rueben & Flossie Beyer Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Kolmer Memorial Cemetery in Waterloo, IL. A further celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Gateway Pet Guardians, 725 N. 15th Street, East St. Louis, IL. 62205.
