Obituary Bobby Eugene Casteel said goodbye to us on January 31, 2022 at the age of 85. He was born in Harlan, Kentucky on October 28, 1936 to Alice Hall and William Taylor Casteel. Upon his mother Alice dying during childbirth, Bobby was adopted and raised by his uncle Lincoln James Casteel and wife Margaret. Bobby was a member of the United States Air Force, and served in the Philippines in 1958 during his stint in the service where he worked with the Boy Scouts. He had several re-assignments before he was located to the US Air Force Radar Station in Duncanville, TX. While stationed in Duncanville, TX, he met his wife of 61 years, Juanita. Bobby and Juanita moved to Waco with their daughters Rhonda and Brigitta, where Bobby worked for Central Freight Lines until he retired. Bobby was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Bobby was supportive of his family, and he went out of his way to make sure their needs were met. He most likely never met a stranger, and he loved silly banter with all. He was a great fisherman and loved time out on his boat with family and friends. He enjoyed metal work, and making Martin houses in his spare time out of his garage. As he got older reading quickly became a hobby. He would make weekly trips to the library; always reading about something new. Throughout his entire life, Bobby was the biggest fan of Kentucky basketball, his home state team. Bobby is preceded in death by his mother and father; his uncle Lincoln and wife Margaret; his uncles James and William; his step-brother Bill Sprinkle; and his daughter Brigitta Ilene Matthews. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Juanell Casteel; his daughter Rhonda Barnett; his granddaughter Ashley Yarwood and husband Russell; three great-grandsons Cade, Elliott, and Brooks; his sister Joyce Perry; his sister-in-law Charlene Sullivan and husband Bill; many nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
