Billie’s Obituary Billie was born on August 9, 1930, in Hillsboro, OR. She was the 3rd of 4 children born to Jack and Vera Gottlieb. She was raised at the family farm on Jackson School Road, where she enjoyed walking in the woods and picking wildflowers. She attended schools in Hillsboro, graduating from Hilhi in 1949. She met her husband, Warren, when his sister and brother-in-law went to pick him up from the airport when he left the Navy. It was their anniversary and they wanted to go out to dinner. They didn’t want Warren to be a third wheel so they invited Billie to join. They soon began dating and were married on April 1, 1949, as Billie had the day off of school during senior year. They lived in Hillsboro for a short time and then moved to Forest Grove. They moved to Hillsboro in 1958, where she lived in the same house until her death. Over the years, she worked at Haley’s Cannery and Tektronix. She was a Blue Bird and Campfire group leader when her daughters were young. She enjoyed painting, quilting, and drawing. She loved dolls, music boxes, butterflies, and wind chimes. She also had a large miniature spoon collection. One important thing to her was maintaining contact with her high school class. Many years ago, she began writing a yearly newsletter. Many of her classmates would send her updates which she would compile into a newsletter, the last of which was sent in the spring of 2022. Billie passed away on the evening of December 21st, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, of almost 65 years, 3 siblings, and a son-in-law. Survivors include her six children and their spouses: Randy & Verna Bybee of North Plains, Turk & Debbie Gravley of Gaston, Dwight & Beckie Johnson of Hillsboro, Jennie Bronleewe of Hillsboro, Dusty & Denise Bybee of Hillsboro, and Kelly & Tammy Bybee of Hillsboro. She is also survived by her 21 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren & 3 great-great grandchildren with 2 more on the way.
