Obituary Beverly Hansen Rufi January 3, 1944 – January 20, 2022 Beverly Hansen Rufi passed away peacefully in Logan, Utah on January 20, 2022. Bev was born on January 3, 1944 in Montpelier, Idaho to Delbert and Dolly Hansen of Garden City, Utah. She was the fourth of nine children (6 boys and 3 girls). Bev grew up in Pickleville (Garden City), Utah on the shores of beautiful Bear Lake. She spent her grade school years in Garden City and high school years going to North Rich High in Laketown, Utah. Bev moved to Evanston, Wyoming after graduating. She worked several jobs and retired from the Wyoming State Hospital after 30 plus years. She lived in Evanston, Wyoming until two years ago when she was diagnosed with dementia and moved to Legacy House in Logan, Utah. Bev married Arthur J. Rufi on December 26, 1970 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They had one daughter, Mandy, who was the greatest blessing and joy of their lives. Bev and Art were members of the VFW/Women’s Auxiliary where they spent years of dedicated service to veterans. They prepared flags to decorate veterans’ graves every Memorial Day for many years. Bev loved to serve others and was the most kind, giving, caring person you could ever meet. Hardly a day went by when she wasn’t doing something kind for someone else. Her greatest joy in life was her daughter, Mandy. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed watching the Utah Jazz, dogs, Diet Coke, camping, sewing, canning, cleaning, and SHOPPING (which she passed on to Mandy)! She was preceded in death by her husband, Art; parents, Delbert and Dolly Hansen; brother, Rodney Hansen, and sister-in-law, Marilyn Hansen; brother, Delmoine Hansen; sister, Marlene Hess, and brother-in-law, Art Hess; brother, Bud Hansen; and in-laws, Harvey and Mary Rufi. She is survived by her daughter, Mandy Rufi; sister-in-law, Colleen Hansen; brothers, Dennis (Marsha) Hansen; Vern (Jo) Hansen; Huck (Jana) Hansen; sister, Deb Hansen; sister-in-law, Kathy (John) Fierro; and her many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would like to thank nephew, Alan “Oop” Hansen, nieces, Irene Hansen and Amy Ellis, and neighbors and friends, Bill and Ann Hampton, for watching over Bev after her diagnosis. The family also sends special thanks to the staff at Legacy House in Logan for the great care and love shown to Bev. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 28, from 12-1pm at Crandall Funeral Home in Evanston, Wyoming. A graveside service will be held at 1:30 for family and close friends at the Evanston City Cemetery.
