Mrs. Betty Lee (Davis) Jones, a life-long resident of the Oak-Grove Community in Hohenwald, TN, passed from this life to the next on Thursday, July 29, 2022, at the age of eighty-one. Betty was born on August 25, 1940, to William Sydney Davis and Audie Ann (Odom) Davis, in a cabin on the William Davis Family Farm at Oak Grove. She was married to Jerry “Buck” Jones for many years until his passing in 2013. Betty was employed as an administrative professional for several years in banking, hospital administration, manufacturing companies, and Columbia State Community College. She also was a counselor and mentor to thousands of women during her life. She was very involved with her community, but especially with Oak Grove. Above all, Betty was a child of God. She was a dedicated and well-loved member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She is survived in this life by her daughters, Bridget (Tony Creasy) Jones of Columbia, TN, and Stacy Sharpe of Hohenwald, TN, grandchild, Jennifer Elizabeth Sharpe of Hohenwald, TN, and her great-grandchildren, Kenna Leigh Sharpe and William Kasen Wade Sharpe. Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Zachary Wade Sharpe. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2022, from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Davis-Oak Grove Cemetery.
