Private family graveside service for Bettie Sharpe, 71 of Enid will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, Enid. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home and Crematory. Bettie D’Arcy Sharpe was born November 20, 1951 in Belle, Missouri and passed away November 24, 2022 in Enid. She was the daughter of Charles Denton Sharpe and Millicent “Millie” Nellie Arendall Sharpe. Bettie had two sisters, Bobbi Lea Sharpe Patocka and Karen Rae Sharpe Martin. She graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma Sate University in 1973. Bettie worked for the University for 20 years, before returning to Enid to teach 7th grade English at Waller Middle School. She loved teaching and her students. Bettie was an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma and an active member of Oakwood Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and younger sister, Bobbi Patocka. Bettie is survived by her sister, Karen Martin; four nephews, Jason Stuart (Tiffany) Martin, Matthew Byron (Jeanie) Martin, Maxwell Denton (Amber) Spoonemore and Anthony Patocka; several great nieces and nephews and other relatives. The family would like to especially thank the staff of the Commons, North hall and Grace Unit for their loving care over the past 9 years. Memorials may be made to Hospice Circle of Love or OMRF-Alzheimer’s division.
