Obituary Benjamin Stuart Graham passed from this life into eternity on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. He was 35 years old. The son of Jeff Graham and Beth Wadkins Graham, Ben was born on December 12, 1987. He grew up in Shepherd, Michigan, graduating from Shepherd High School in 2006. Ben loved the outdoors, his family, and Notre Dame football. He enjoyed music and dancing. Some of his best memories were of deer camp, where friends and family gathered each year at his grandparents’ farm near Farwell, Michigan. Their annual traditions included going to Jay’s Sporting Goods on “Orange Eve,” making cinnamon rolls and homemade pizza with Grandma Graham and watching Escanaba in the Moonlight at their hilltop shanty before setting out in search of their own thirty-point buck. He was thrilled to welcome his stepchildren into these traditions, and to share his love of hunting hunting with them. Ben married April Kavanaugh on October 1, 2021, becoming stepfather to Aiden, Angelina, Alexander and Adelyn Kavanaugh. Ben’s struggles did not diminish the love he had for his family and friends, and despite recent events, his loved ones will deeply miss his big heart and sense of humor. When he was at his best, Ben was tender, kind, hard working, and thoughtful. Ben was reunited in Heaven with his paternal grandparents, Ben and Lois Graham; his maternal grandfather, Dwain Wadkins; his uncles, Bruce and Mark Wadkins, and his unborn baby girl. He leaves behind his wife, April, and stepchildren, Aiden, Angelina, Alexander, and Adelyn; his father Jeff and stepmother, Heidi; his mother Beth and John Weiss; maternal grandmother, Iris; sister Megan (Michael) Sterling; sister Rebecca; stepbrothers, Christian (Sierra) Baker, Myles Baker and Wesley Baker and Tyler Weiss; aunt, Julie (John) Munoz; aunt Anne Wadkins; cousins, Nicole (Rick) Barr, Jenny (Donovan) Cantu, Elizabeth Wadkins and Tori (Adam) Stadler; nieces Mackenzie and Maci Sterling, and many friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 2, 2023 at South Lansing Christian Church (6300 Aurelius Road, Lansing). The family will receive friends at Skinner Funeral Home, Lansing Chapel on Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Christian College, or to the Kavanaugh children’s college fund.
