Barbara McCarthy Schissel, 74, passed away December 9, 2022. She was born March 2, 1948 in Rochester, MN, the daughter of Leo & Rose McCarthy. Barbara married the love of her life, Dr. Richard Schissel on October 1,1988. She was a kind and loving soul. She treasured time spent with Rick fly fishing, playing tennis, sailing and long walks. She was a creator of beautiful quilts. Many were stitched with dear friends over the years, beginning with a heritage quilt in 1978. Barbara is survived by her husband, 4 step children & spouses, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grand children, 2 sisters and a brother. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and 1 grandson. We will always carry her beautiful warm smile in our hearts. Visitation is planned for January 7, 2023 at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 5801 Lyndale Ave, Mpls MN from 1:00 to 3:00.
