Obituary of Audrey Louise Cortez Age 75 of Mounds View, Minnesota left us on February 12th, 2020. Audrey was born in Minneapolis, August 11, 1944. She grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Washburn High. She taught Montessori Kindergarten for over 30 years at Church of the Ascension in North Minneapolis. She had a passion for teaching English language learners and was very involved with the Latino community at Ascension and in Minnesota. She was a lover of literature and the arts and enjoyed writing herself. She loved cats and raised Himalayan show cats. She was preceded in death by her Mother and Father Hazel and William Jensen, her brother Donald Jensen and her late husband Lorenzo Cortez. She is survived by brother William Jensen, daughters Kathleen and Colleen O’Neil, and grandchildren Kendra and Neven Zuvich. Due to Covid precautions our family had a small graveside burial in 2021 and will finally be gathering for a Memorial Mass to celebrate her life: Please join us to celebrate Audrey. The service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday July 16, 2022 at Church of the Ascension 1723 N Bryant Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55411.
