Anita Alaia, 80, died quietly at home on Thursday, December 22, 2022, in Lincroft, NJ. She spent her final moments much like she spent her final years — wrapped in the love of her devoted daughters. She was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and lived for many years in Staten Island and New Jersey but anyone who spent more than five minutes in her company knows that her heart and home was in her beloved Clearwater, Florida. If you knew Annie, you knew two things for sure — her home was immaculately kept and her will was a force to be reckoned with. Against all odds and with a little help from yoga breathing, our one lung wonder ran circles around everyone until the end. She was the first person on the dance floor and the last person to leave it. She only sat still long enough to have a cup of tea. She leaves behind her daughter Eileen Raymond, her daughter Kathleen Starace and son-in-law Rudy Starace, her son Joseph McGovern and his fiancĂ© Edie Olsen, her son Daniel McGovern, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren who brought so much love and light into her life. Annie will be privately cremated, and a celebration of life will be held this spring when we can dance on the beach in her honor.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Annie Alaia October 18 1942 December 23 2022.
