Ann’s Obituary ANN MARIE CROTTY age 93 of Groton and Bonita Springs, Fl. passed away peacefully Saturday, November 26, 2022 at her daughter’s home in New London, where she resided since 2018. Ann was born in Brockton, Massachusetts on April 16, 1929 the daughter of Americo and Cora Luisi Alexander. She graduated from Brockton High and attended Boston University. While in Boston, she worked for a large insurance co. and was a professional model for the Hart Agency. On November 21, 1959, she married Paul J. Crotty from Bellows Falls, Vt. and moved to Groton. Paul passed away on August, 12, 1998. In 1974, Ann began a successful and respected career as a real estate agent and manager retiring in 1995. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Groton and a volunteer for the Child & Family Agency. Ann enjoyed travel, sports, food, shopping, and good conversation. However, her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, Collin and Cora. Ann was a kind, generous, strong, and independent woman. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. Ann is survived by her daughter, Corinne Crotty Sawyer of New London and her grandchildren, Collin and Cora Sawyer; a brother, Fred Alexander and wife Karen of New York City. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her son Robert; her sister, Phyllis Alexander of Bonita Springs Fl.; brother Anthony Alexander of West Bridgewater Ma.; and her brother Malcolm Alexander of Naples Fl. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 10 at 10 o’clock at Sacred Heart Church, 52 Sacred Heart Dr, Groton. Interment in Elm Grove Cemetery will be private. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) or the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
