Thul January 7, 1932 – December 12, 2022 Share this obituary View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Andy Thul, age 90, passed away peacefully on The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, December 12, 2022. Andy is survived by his wife, Mary Louise (LaBar) Thul whom he married in 1956. They have 7 children, Laura Thul Penza (Jeff), Donna Wenstrup (Ned), Andy (Barb) Thul, Barbara Isemann (Bob), Mary Garrison, Katie Kesse (Ed) and Rob Thul. Andy and Lou were delighted by their 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Andy is survived by his sisters Marilyn Hertlein (Charles) and Sr. Mary Grace Thul, a cloistered nun living at the Dominican Monastery of Mary the Queen in Girard, IL. Andy is preceded in death by his brother Fr. Robert Thul, S.J., and his parents, Marcella (Bender) and Nathan W. Thul. Andy was born on January 7, 1932 in Cincinnati. He graduated from St. Xavier High School in 1950 and went on to attend University of Cincinnati where he graduated in 1956 with a degree in Architecture. Andy turned an early hobby of woodworking into a profession as a Builder and Designer, starting Precision Built Corporation and Andy Thul and Associates. Andy loved midcentury modern furniture and designed contemporary housing. Andy combined his skill in building with a great devotion to the Blessed Mother, going twice to Medjugorje, assisting in building the church in Falmouth, KY and working as a member on the board of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Center. Our Lady honored him as he was called to heaven on one of her special Feast Days. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church (7820 Beechmont Ave.) beginning at 9:00am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at 10:00am. It will be immediately followed by a graveside burial ceremony at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
