Obituary Amy Ann Detiege, 51, of Rigby, passed away Thursday, October 6, 2022, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was under the care of Aspen Hospice. Amy was born on December 12, 1970, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Randal C. Schaat and Susan Reick Schaat. She grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1989. Amy later attended Kaplan University with honors and graduated in 2008 with her bachelor’s degree. On July 22, 1989, she married James Edward Detiege Sr. at The Willows. Amy lived in many places that, included Iowa and Idaho. She worked at Fred Meyer, Mercer, and the Teton Cancer Institute. She enjoyed playing on the Radical dart league. Amy had many interests she enjoyed crafts, gardening, playing in family game night, and doing what she did best, and that was being surrounded by her family. Amy was the most loving, sweet, hardworking woman you could have ever known. She was creative in so many ways, beautiful, kindhearted soul who loved her family with all her heart. She is survived by her husband, James Detiege Sr; her mother, Susan Schaat of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Her sons, James Jr. (Erik) Detiege-Chavez of Stafford, Virginia, Tyler (Jasmine) Detiege of Rigby, Idaho; her daughter, Brittany (Rachel) Evans of Rigby, Idaho. She was also survived by her brothers; Joel (Sheri) Schaat of Rigby, Idaho, and Will Schaat of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Her sister, Tracey Baldwin of Idaho Falls, Idaho; her grandson Bryce Detiege of Rigby, Idaho. Amy was preceded in death by her father Randal Schaat, grandparents Jeanne and Ed Reick, Wanda and Charlie Schaat. A friend and brother Lee C. Schaat. The Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First Street, Idaho Falls. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
