November 16 2022
Alice Faye Bowers Harris, age 83, of Hueytown, Alabama, met her Savior on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at home. Alice Faye was born in Tarrant, Alabama on October 31, 1939. After graduating from Tarrant High School, she immediately began working for South Central Bell, later BellSouth, and her career spanned forty years. She served as Executive Assistant to many vice presidents with the organization during her tenure. Alice Faye married Jack Harris in 1960, and he affectionately called her his “Buddie,” a nickname she kept the rest of her life. She was a long-time member of North Highlands Baptist Church where she and Jack attended regularly until their health declined. Buddie loved gardening, decorating, shopping, and traveling with their best friends, Jim and Janice DeLong, but her favorite pastime was spending time with her children and grandchildren, her pride and joy. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jack Thomas Harris; parents, Theodore “Ted” and Vondlee Bowers; and brother, Robert “Bobby” Bowers. Survivors include her son, Richey Harris (Carla) of Tuscaloosa; daughter, Kaci Harris Raybon of Hueytown; brother, James “Jimmy” Bowers (Kay) of Hartselle; grandchildren, Jackson Harris, Ashlyn Raybon Alves (Gabriel), Clay Harris (Maggie), and Caroline Raybon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be Richey Harris, Jackson Harris, Clay Harris, Gabriel Alves, Craig Colvin, and Steve Colvin. The visitation will be Monday, November 21, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home, with Rev. Michael Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to North Highlands Baptist Church in Hueytown, Alabama.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of ALICE FAYE BOWERS HARRIS November 16 2022.
