Longtime Alaskan, Ada Marie Dearman, 91, died May 13, 2022, at Alaska Regional Hospital. Ada was the seventh of ten children. She married Eddie Dearman in June 1951; to that union two children were born. We say farewell to Ada; a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend and neighbor. We say farewell with sadness for we have lost her, we also say with joy that God has taken her on her own terms. Ada left Oakland, California in September of 1954 with two small children, and initially lived with her brother John Macon and his family to begin a new life in Anchorage. Eddie, Ada’s husband joined his little family later, and they built the current family home in the Green Acres Subdivision. Ada was employed by the Federal government for 26 years and worked at Elmendorf AFB and Ft Richardson Army base as a systems analyst until she retired in 1980. Ada’s living memory is of her husband Eddie Dearman of more than 70 years, son; Eddie D Dearman, daughter; Debra Dearman, grandchildren, Philandus (Buggy) Dearman, Antoinette (Bing) Dearman Bruner, Amara Meierhoff-Dearman, great-grandchildren Shemar Lawson, Aaqilah Dearman, Elliana Meierhoff, Azariah Meierhoff-Nave and a host of nephews, nieces grand and great grand nieces and nephews. Ada was proceeded in death by her mother Mary Ellen Macon, father Jessie Macon, sister Jessie Briggs, brother Tom Macon, sister Lucille (Ann) Taylor, sister Luellen Lawson, Vergie Lee Hannon, brother John Macon, brother George (BB) Macon, brother Chester Macon and the youngest, sister Helen Patrick who passed hours before Ada on the same day in Oakland, California. She was loved and will be greatly missed. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Ada, please visit our Tree Store or plant a tree.
