Richard’s Obituary On Sunday, November 15, 2020 Richard Valentine Avena Jr. passed away unexpectedly. Richard (Rick) was born on March 31, 1950 in Florida to Richard Valentine Avena Sr. and Margaret Waldeck. Rick attended Calvert Hall High School in Baltimore, MD and the University of Maryland. While there, his team won two NCAA Lacrosse Championships and then he went on to play for team USA, traveling around the world. After retiring from real estate, He enjoyed sports and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife of 22yrs, Jennifer, his sister Margaret Manthei, children Richard Valentine Avena III, and Alexa Shumate, and beloved dog Jackson. A memorial is planned for the spring.
