Opal I. Bowling October 25, 1936 – November 11, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Opal I. Bowling 84, Indianapolis, passed away Nov. 11, 2020. She had worked the counter for Frost Bite in Avon for 18 years. She attended Redeemer Baptist Church in Indianapolis. Her husband Junior Bowling preceded her in death in 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents William Henry and Lucy Ann Vaughn; son Paul Wilburn, brother Roy Vaughn; sisters Mary Ruth Gatliff, Gladys Abner, and Doris Miracle. Opal is survived by children Linda (James) Mize, Deborah Deshetler, David Wilburn, Ruth Ann (Eric) Raisor, and Brenda Wilburn; daughter-in-law Connie Wilburn; brothers Otis Vaughn, Garret Vaughn, and Donnie Vaughn; 20 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Monday November 16 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 10am Tuesday November 17. Burial will follow in Brownsburg Cemetery. In compliance with current regulations and restrictions, guests are required to wear masks and observe social distancing.
