Betty’s Obituary Betty Barrow Age 89 of New Chicago affectionately known as Maw Maw went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 23,2020. She was born on May 15, 1931 to the late Asa and Mae Roark. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of New Chicago, where she served along side her husband, Bro. Bill as a dedicated, faithful and hard working pastor’s wife for 45 year’s. She served her Lord in countless ways. Betty had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to bring joy to others which led her to Purdue University’s Clown School to become Bubbles the Clown. Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, friend and Christian. She also loved her grand dogs Lady, Prissy, Diego, Sarah, Sadie, Maddie and Thor. Betty is survived by her son, Mike (Marisa) Barrow; daughter, Kim (Perry) Gamble all of New Chicago; two granddaughters, Salena Barrow and Erica (David) Stephens; great-grandson, William David Stephens,and many nieces and nephews, special friends, Linda Letson and Linda Wheeler, many other loving family members, friends and church family. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 65 years, Robert W. Barrow “Brother Bill”, her parents,brother Ronnie Roark, and Terry Gamble. The family wishes to thank Dunes Hospice for their loving care and support during this difficult time as well as her church family. In lieu of flowers donations to Dunes Hospice ,4711Evans Ave Valparaiso, Indiana 46383 or to First Baptist Church, 401 Huber Blvd, Hobart, Indiana 46342 in Betty’s memory would be appreciated. Due to Covid 19 Funeral Services will be held privately with Paster Jerry Stepp officiating. A celebration of Betty’s life will be at a later date. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Portage.
