Teresa’s Obituary Teresa Blanchard Ward, 59, of 701 Ryland Road, Tyner, NC, died Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Duke University Hospital in Durham where she was surrounded by her family. Mrs. Ward, a lifelong resident of Chowan County, was born on January 31, 1961, and was the daughter of the late Leslie Earl and Lucille Darden Blanchard. Retired from White Oak Elementary School where she taught Second Grade for over 20 years, she had formerly worked with the Chowan County Water Department. She was a faithful member of Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are her husband of 33 years, Harry Radolph Ward; three daughters, Micah Lynch and husband, Chad, Rachel Melton and husband, Josh, and Sarah Ward; two grandchildren, Hunter and Raelyn Lynch; and her brother, Craig Blanchard and wife, Vickie. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Outdoor Tabernacle of Happy Home Pentecostal Holiness Church, and will be conducted by the Rev. Walter Byrum and the Rev. Buck Leary. The burial will follow in the church cemetery and will be conducted by the Rev. Russell Blanchard. Seating at the Tabernacle will be provided for family only, and those who wish may bring a lawn chair or stand away to better practice social distancing.
