Death notice for the town of: Dixon, state: Kentucky
Is this the Steven Brooks that once lived in Evansville, Indiana? If so, I was his first grade teacher. He was smart, kind and my very favorite all time student. If this that Steven please pass on to his children. I am so sorry. Blessings and prayers for you all.
It was my professional and personal pleasure to work with Steven Brooks in the Mid-1980s. Steven was the Director of the Evansville Indiana Redevelopment Commission and I was his Deputy Director. At that time we were charged with an ambitious redevelopment of Downtown Evansville that resulted in the design and creation of the Pedestrian Esplanade and general improvements of the downtown. The Esplanade was the award winning focal point of a revitalized downtown. Working together Steven and I weathered and overcame myriad problems and the Esplanade stands as concrete evidence of our achievement. I was impressed with Steven’s intelligence, political acumen and can-do determination. He should be remembered for his contributions to his “Evansville”. A sad passing of a good man!
