Shirley E. May, age 81 of Port Hope, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020 in Port Hope, under hospice care. She was born on February 7, 1939 in Ashland, KY to the late Manford & Lucy (Higgins) Hall. She and Donald May were united in marriage on April 16, 1955 in Ashland, KY. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1992. Shirley worked many years at the North Shore Grocery in Port Hope. She was a member of the Red Hats, the Outsiders, AmVets Auxiliary, and the Port Hope Retirees. Most of all she enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her children: Donald May, Jr., of Port Huron, Cindy (Larry) Strozeski of Port Hope, Dan (Deanna) May of Port Hope, Sharon (Gary) Schave of Port Hope, 8 grandchildren: Vicki, Rebecca, Lisa, Amanda, Joey, Konnie, Kristy, Kim, 10 great grandchildren, her sister Mary Hall Wilson of Rausch, KY, and sister-in-law: Janet Stone of Sterling Heights. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Pearlie May, and siblings: Bonnie Blevins, Sally McAllister, and Bill Hall. Cremation has taken place.
