Peter Argiriou 7/8/25-10/22/20 Peter Argiriou, aged 95 of Encino California passed away October 22, 2020. He was the son of the late Olga & Nick Argiriou, brother of the late Demetria & Gabriel Curtis. He is survived by his Niece, Lynn Demetrakis and her husband, Thomas and their children Alexandra and Nicole. As well as his Nephew, Peter Curtis and his late wife Lynn and their children Christina and Evan and his great-grandnephew John David III. Peter was a first-generation Greek American born in NYC in 1925, surrounded by loving parents and a large family of Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II, where he assisted with many sea rescue missions. Before moving to California, Peter was an active member of the AHEPA, a Trustee of Ascension Church Fairview and was active in fundraising activities for St John the Theologian Tenafly. He was also named the “Honorary Godfather” when St. John’s first opened its doors. As a resident of Southern California for over 40 years, Peter relished the warm weather and sun of his adopted home. He was an avid Golfer and became a Golf Instructor at Pierce College for over 25 years, until he retired at the age of 86. Peter had countless friends and neighbors in his California home, where he was loved by young and old alike. Peter’s presence and love of life will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Metropolitan Cathedral St. John The Theologian, 353 East Clinton Avenue,Tenafly, New Jersey 07670.
