Doug Lewis, 76, of Margate, NJ went home to be with the Lord on Sunday October 4, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Suffolk, England he was the son of the late Irving and Madge (Goodchild) Lewis. He was the loving devoted husband of Mary Elizabeth (Doughty) Lewis who he married on October 9, 1971. Doug worked as a handy man for many years throughout the local area until he went to work for Harrah’s Casino in their environmental services department. He then went to work for Legacy Resorts in Brigantine working there for over ten years until his retirement. Doug loved to bowl and enjoyed any type of ocean fishing. He was a member of the Surf Casters Club. Doug will be missed and fondly remembered by his wife; Mary Lewis, daughters; Kimberly (Bob) Stapleton, Madge Lewis, Angie (Chris) Creamer, Ruth Robinson, son; Glen Lewis, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, brothers; Guy Lauer, John (Grace) Lauer, sisters; Yvonne Lauer, Sarah Thompson, Missy Bickerstaff. In addition to his parents he Doug was predeceased by a brother Glynn Lewis. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Doug’s memory to the American Diabetes Association P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
