Agatha F. Thoreson, 92, of Hamilton Lakes passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020, at ManorCare in Kingsford, MI. Aggie was born in Faithorn, MI, on May 20, 1928, the daughter of Joseph and Theresa Repitz, Plohar. She attended Brandt School in Faithorn and graduated from Norway High School. She married Carl Thoreson on Feb. 28, 1947; he preceded her in death in 1970. The couple had four children: Frances, the late Michael, Seghi of Villa Park, IL, Suzanne (Dennis) Fraker of Iron Mountain, Cynthia (James) Yantorni of WInter Springs, FL and Clifford, “Sam” (Mary Beth) Thoreson of Hamilton Lakes; grandchildren, Lynn (Randy) Menzie, Sarah (James) Abrams, Samuel (Amy) Seghi, Emily (Mathew) Brown, Ian (Natalie) Fraker, Brooke Yantorni, Lauren Yantorni, Thomas (Jamie) Yantorni, Cole (Chelsea) Thoreson and Katie (Ryan) Pollard; and twelve great-grandchildren. Aggie was preceded in death by a sister, Myrtle, and brother, Virgil. Aggie was a member of Grace Methodist of Norway and Faithorn. She worked at Lofholm Lumber for many years. Aggie loved cooking for her family and friends, gardening, bird watching, reading and all of the family pets. Aggie was famous for her lemon meringue pies and many other family favorites. The family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at Manor Care and a special mention of her “guardian angel” Marti Pirkola.
