Subramania’s Obituary Dr. Subramania Ramachandran, 82 passed away on August, 10th 2020 in State College, Pa. Dr. Ramachandran was an esteemed biochemist and served in research and development for over 45 years. He first came to the United States of America from India back in 1962 to pursue his higher education at The Ohio State University with an achievement of 2 PHD’s (Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry). Shortly after completing his studies, he got married to his wife Meera Ramachandran and later had 4 children (Vijay, Vidya, Vimal, & Vasuda). Dr. Ramachandran was an award winning researcher and was group vice president at Applied Science Inc. from 1968-1979 then had his own fine chemicals company from 1980-2002 and for the past 15 years worked as Director of R&D at Matreya. He loved his work in the laboratory and continued to the very end. He also went by “Dr. Raman” to his colleagues and Raman to friends and family. Raman is survived by his wife Meera of 52 years, 4 children and 4 grandchildren. He will be missed by many….. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, his Funeral will be limited to close family and friends of no more than 25 people inside Funeral Home starting 2 p.m. Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, 701 Derstine Ave., Lansdale, PA 19446. The public may remain outside Funeral Home and participate in attendance with a Zoom Funeral Meeting starting at 1:30 p.m. Those that are outside either in their cars or standing in the parking lot, may enter Funeral Home for final Mantras and placing rose petals on body when the priest Services are concluded. You will be directed by Funeral Home staff when to enter Funeral Home for a brief period than exiting. Everyone is welcome to witness the cremation ceremony while standing in our parking lot.
