Omer’s Obituary Omer Clay Combs, 90, of Austin, IN, went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ at 3:00 PM on Monday, August 17, 2020, at his home with his family at his side. Omer was born Sunday, June 15, 1930, in Lee County, KY. He was the son of Marvin Combs and Callie Jane (Cole) Combs. Omer retired in 1991 from ICI in Charlestown, IN after 37 years of service. On May 9, 1994, in Charlestown, IN, he married Juanita F. (Coulter) Combs, who survives in Austin, IN. Omer was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Crothersville, IN. He enjoyed bluegrass music, coon & squirrel hunting, bird watching (especially watching martins), liked to camp & farm, and was a huge UK wildcat fan. He was known to be honest, straight to the point, a loving dad, and loved Jesus. Other Survivors include Carolyn Ann (Ed) Weddle of Crothersville, IN, Olan Anthony (Deanna Tingle) Combs of Austin, IN, Dovie Lucille (Mike) Stidham of Seymour, IN, Jannie Lorena Stidham of Seymour, IN, Lisa Irene (Kevin) Stollings of Scottsburg, IN, 2 step-children, Cecil Edward “Eddie” Pierce of Charlestown, IN, and Debra “Debbie” Fay Bonsett of Minneapolis, MN, 12 grandchildren, Melissa Butiste, Brian Pyle, Melinda Rice, Michael Stidham, Hope Lamb, Michele Stidham. Darrin Stidham, Aaron Stidham, Amanda Stidham, Latasha Stollings, Brooke Barrett, and Riley Stollings, 20 great-grandchildren, Cassie McDonald, Cloie McDonald, Eli Clay Stidham, Gabe Stidham, Gavyn Stagnolia, Kristen Hurtt, Jaylie Hurtt, Aaron Stidham, Darrin Stidham, MaKeely Stidham, Laikin Stidham, Annelise Stidham, Presley Stidham, Peyton Stidham, Emma Stidham, Ellynor Stidham, Alyssa Williams, Lexi Mae Wilson, Jaxon Wilson, Xander Wilson and 1 great-great-grandchild, Hadley Helton. He was preceded in death by a stillborn son, Daniel Clay Combs in 1949, siblings, Eloree Combs Mays, Otis Combs, James Robert Combs, Warren Combs, Adria Combs Applegate, Odell Combs, Lucille Townsend, Jeanette Mays, Betty Mae Townsend, Mavis Magalene Combs. Pastor James Harold Combs, Omer’s nephew, will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Scottsburg with burial to follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, August 21, 2020, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and after 9:00 AM on Saturday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Scottsburg. Please follow the CDC’s recommendations and guidelines while attending the visitation for more guidelines, due to state mandates masks are required.
