Nell’s Obituary Services for Nell Fern Dueser, 94, of Vandalia, will be held Monday August 17, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Vandalia with Reverend Lionel Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Vandalia Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Dueser passed away at 8:20 p.m. August 13, 2020 at Tri-County Care Center in Vandalia. She was born in Ralls County on August 18, 1925, the daughter of Joseph L. and Willie Z. Bull Aderton. She married Richard Elmo Holman in Pike County on December 11, 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1980. She then married Henry Denson Dueser in Ft. Worth, TX on March 11, 1982 and he preceded her in death on March 13, 1988. Survivors include: one sister, Norma Jean Shaw of Vandalia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by five brothers, William, Lionel, John Richard, Curry and Gilbert Aderton; and one sister, Martha Milam. Mrs. Dueser was primarily an area resident and lived several years in California and Texas moving back in 1992. She graduated from Vandalia High School and was employed as a bank teller for over 26 years in California. She and her husband, Elmo, ran Holman’s Market in Bowling Green for 17 years. Mrs. Dueser was a member of the Vandalia VFW Post 2173 Auxiliary for many years and enjoyed sewing, her chewawah “Buddy” doing puzzles, dancing and socializing with her friends and family.
