Sixt July 09, 2020 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation John Winston Sixt, originally from Germantown, OH, passed away suddenly on July 9, 2020 at the age of 78. John was born in Middletown, OH. He graduated from Germantown High School in 1960. He then graduating from Wittenberg University in Springfield, OH with a BS in Education. He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Soon after graduation from college he moved to Boston, MA and then later to the San Francisco and San Jose areas of California. John shared a lifetime passion for cooking and great food service with his friends and family as well as a career. He recently retired after 33 years with Sodexo, Inc. Throughout his career he was known as a great teacher to his staff and the many students of the school systems he served with through Sodexo. He loved coordinating the “cook-off” contests each year for the students and the staff at the various schools. John is survived by his siblings: Gary Sixt of Northville, Michigan and Marsha (Sixt) Pierce of Beavercreek, Ohio; Nieces and Nephews: Holly Brown, Christopher Sixt (Anne), Heather Kuzma (Jeff), Cameron Sixt, Eric Lansaw (Ilene), Aaron Pierce (Sara), and Geoffrey Pierce. John was preceded in death by his parents Doris P. and Hubert L. Sixt of Ohio and stepson Keishiro Nishijima. A graveside service will be held Thursday, August 6, 2020 at 10:30 at the family site in the Germantown, OH cemetery. Pastor Paul Heine officiating.
