Obituary John L. Gunnet, age 81, passed away at home on August 11, 2020. He was the loving husband of the late Patricia Ann (Myers) Gunnet, who passed away in 1997. He was also the companion of Joan Shearer. John was born in Bair Station on June 23, 1939 and was the son of the late James I. and Ruth S. (Betchtel) Gunnet. He graduated from West York High School Class of 1957. He spent most of his life as a Plant Operator for York Water. He was a long-time member of Christ (Roth’s) Lutheran Church. John is survived by his daughter Heather A. Theobald and her husband Patrick of West York; his granddaughters Megan and Kayla; his sisters Sally A. Akins of New York, and Linda M. Harbold of York; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service in celebration of John’s life will be held on Tuesday at 11:00AM at Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Inc., 175 N. Main St. Spring Grove PA 17362, followed by a burial, next to his wife, at Christ (Roth’s) Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:00-11:00AM at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, and in compliance with health and public safety directives, those attending the visitation will be required to wear masks and attendance inside the funeral home will be limited to 25 people at a time.
