James’ Obituary James Kermit Dunning, 78, of Rockcrusher Road, died Friday July 31, 2020 at Novant Health Rowan in Salisbury. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Jersey Baptist Church, where he was a member, with Rev.W.C Adams officiating sevices. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state Tuesday August 4, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Davidson Funeral Home. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be suggested guidelines to follow. Social distancing and face mask are recommended . Mr. Dunning was born December 6, 1941 in Davidson County to Milton Dunning and Savannah Kennedy Dunning. He was retired from Council Furniture and was a member of the United States Army Reserve. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are five brothers; Tommy Dunning (Margaret), Charles Dunning (Edith), Robert “Bob” Dunning (Michelle), Richard “Buck” Dunning (Pat) and David “Red” Dunning, all of Lexington; seven sisters, Hilda Leonard (Donald), Helen Wrenn (Brice), Lucy Leonard (Woody), Linda Mize (George), Evelyn Fritts (David), Brenda Swinson (David) all of Lexington and Becky Frye (Charlie) of Advance.
