Irvin Payne April 26, 1990 – August 19, 2020 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook Irvin Austin Payne, born April 26, 1990 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Irvin attended the New York City Public School System. Throughout his years in school he was quick to finish his class work as well as be quick to make his classmates laugh. Irvin loved to figure things out, making almost everything a project. He was the family’s natural born electrician. From a young age, Irvin developed a love for basketball, dancing and telling jokes. He was known for his humor and that made it hard to stay mad at Irvin. He could walk into a room and change the mood with a simple joke. Irvin also loved children and held them close to him. He absolutely adored his daughter Kay’lei! She was his world from the day she was born. He also cherished his niece D’maiyah and Godson Jayden aka Bum as if they were his own. Unfortunately, in the early morning of August 19, 2020, Irvin was fatally shot. The trauma was too much for his body and he made his transition into the arms of the Lord. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory: his daughter, Kay’lei; mother, Gina Payne; father, Irvin Bishop; stepmother, Ellen Donaldson; his seven brothers and sisters, Ashley, Keith, Kirk, Shakima, Aaron, Brandon and Caleb; his niece, D’maiyah; grandmother, Anna Bishop; grandmother, Lavern Fincher; grandfather, William Payne; his daughter’s mother, Wyshika; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. May His Soul Rest in Peace, and Rise in Glory Journey’s Just Begun By Ellen Brenneman Don’t think of him as gone away – his journey’s just begun life holds so many facets this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears in a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today how nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched…for nothing loved is ever lost—and he was loved so much.
