Obituary Howard Gene Giese, of Williamston, Mi died Tuesday, August 18th at the age of 64. Howard grew up in Redford Township, the youngest of four children with three doting sisters. They taught him fashion, the art of female psychology, and the importance of a college education. Howard attended MSU from 1972 – 1976 graduating with a bachelor’s degree with green blood flowing eternally throughout his veins. On graduation day he married his college sweetheart Pam Strietzel, and they took off and began their life in Chicago. Howard benefited from a life-long career in sales. He started out as a manufacturer’s rep and switched to the machine tool industry in 1986, taking advantage of the prolific innovation occurring in this field. He worked for two international companies, Citizen Precision Machinery (Japanese) selling newly emerging CNC lathes. Next, he worked atLNS (Swiss) selling machine tool peripheral bar feeds. During his career he spent 25 years traveling extensively throughout the United States and Europe. Proving his Spartan flexibility, he began a new career as funeral director after graduating top of his class from Worsham College of Mortuary Science in 2011. His kind heart, gentle voice and loving eyes helped countless grieving families through their loss. Howard married Dali in 1999. It was love at first sight – a soul connection that could not be broken.Many times tested, their blended family took time to build but it was well worth the effort. Just talk to any member and they will tell you stories of spirited euchre tournaments, insanely competitive fantasy football and good-natured gambling. Howard was a sport nut engaging both as a participant and fan. Anyone who knows him has witnessed or heard the numerous escapades and memes he channeled to bring home the win. It was with this same passion that he engaged with family and friends. Always teetering on the ridiculous, he could make you wonder how he got away with it! Howard is survived by his loving wife Dali, son Howard (Danielle),daughter Lisa (Alex), two stepsons, Drake and Cole Spalding and four grandchildren Moses, Amaya, Maverick and Wyatt. He is also survived by his sisters Cheryl, Sandy (John) and Sally (Robert). He is predeceased by his parents Gene and Virginia. A tailgate memorial will be held at Herrmann Funeral Home, where Howard was employed as funeral director, which will be held outside, on the backside of the property with social distancing required at 1005 E. Grand River, Fowlerville, MI on September 12 at Noon to 4:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Capital Area Humane. Or, you could plant memorial trees, by visiting a living tribute.
