Hazel’s Obituary Hazel W. Sorrell, age 83, of Wellston, passed away Friday, August 28, 2020, at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. She was born August 5, 1937 in Jackson County, Ohio to the late Frank Preston Davis and Mary Elizabeth Spearry Davis. Hazel retired from Austin Powder, where she was employed for over 30 years. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, spending time with her family and taking care of her dog, Beau. Hazel was a kind soul who was always willing to help others. She is survived by children, Gene Brewer (Pat) of Wellston and Becky Jamison (Tim Cline) of Suffolk, Va.; son-in-law, Michael E. Sharp of McArthur; grandchildren, Michael Sharp (Stacy), Amber Sharp, Brandon Rippeth (Mallory Owings) and Bradley Hutchinson; brother, Gary Davis (Cathy) of Wellston; sisters, Marlene Haydon of Oak Hill and Ida Ruth Nettles of Wellston; along with 7 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Sorrell; daughter, Linda Sharp; and sisters, Mabel Graham and Jane Long. In keeping with Hazel’s wishes, her body was cremated. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Ridgewood Cemetery.
