Westbrook- Ernestine Lynn (Tina) Harvey, 73, of Westbrook, Maine passed away peacefully on July 26, 2020 at a group home. She was born on December 11, 1946 to Roger Sr, and Velma “Parker” Harvey of Westbrook. Tina had been living at a Port Resources supported adult group home located in Old Orchard Beach, Maine since approximately 1998. She was with the Port Resources program since the 90’s. Over the years, Tina had established close connections with her staff and identified several as extended families. Some of these staff had worked with Tina for a number of years and knew her routines and rituals. Tina loved to tease and had a great sense of humor. Visiting and connecting with people was one of Tina’s favorite activities and she usually looked forward to social occasions with great excitement. Although age and an injury from a fall had slowed her down a bit, she still got very excited when she knew she was going somewhere special. She loved going to hotels with her brother and sister-in-law and her favorite place to eat was Friendly’s in South Portland. Her family often met her there for lunch or dinner. Tina had come to enjoy travel and went on small trips whenever she could like Boston. Tina also loved to watch people and was very content to sit and take the world in around her. She had a deep fascination with babies and seemed to gravitate to them directly when she got one in her sights. She will dote over a baby much like she will dote on her dolls. She also doted on her staff when one of them was not well. Tina would bring them drinks and would ask them if they needed soup. Maintaining a schedule and keeping busy was important for Tina. She would fill her time with attention getting activities if she was not entertained by others. She loved to take part in a variety of arts and crafts and she always enjoyed putting together a puzzle. Some of the chores she helped out with included, laundry, vacuuming, dusting, loading the dishwasher, set the table and recycling. She was also happy to take part in cooking projects, especially when it came to sweet items. Tina was a special loving and caring person. Tina was pre-deceased by her father and mother as well as her sister-in-law Susan Simpson Harvey. She is survived by her brother, Roger Harvey Jr, and her sister – in –law Susan Harvey of Leesburg, Florida. Her nieces and nephews, Peter Harvey and his wife Susan, Robert Harvery and his wife Anne, Ashely Foye, and Matthew Foye and his wife Ashley and all their children, all of Westbrook. A private burial is being held at the St. Hyacinth Cemetery, Westbrook. The family would like to thank staff of Port Resources for the loving care Tina received while there.
