Emerson Ernest Frith was born on April 28, 1958 in Nassau, Bahamas. He was the only child of Edith Kemp and Orville Frith who both preceded him in death. After a very short battle against ALS- Lou Gehrig’s disease, Emerson passed away peacefully at home with family members and friends surrounding him with love and his wife, Teresa lying beside him. Emerson rode off on his bike on his forever journey on Friday, August 14th at 3:28pm. Emerson made the big move to the United States on his 21st Birthday and became a citizen of the United States on January 12, 1995. Emerson spent his life in the hospitality industry starting at a young age in Nassau at Emerald Beach Hotel. When he moved to Chicago he worked for Hilton and then started his career with Club Corporation of America where he worked his way up to Food & Beverage Service Director, Emerson was with ClubCorp for 37 years. Emerson also worked at the University Club, Union League Club and The Woman’s Athletic Club during his career. Emerson was full of life. He had the biggest, brightest smile you would ever see. Trying to find a picture of Emerson not smiling is like looking for a needle in a haystack. Emerson loved most to ride his bicycle, he rode year round. Some years Emerson logged nearly 3,000 miles. Emerson loved flying kites and he had many to choose from. Emerson was a renaissance man, there is nothing Emerson could not do. He sewed, he did woodwork, he was an amazing Chef, a wine connoisseur just to mention a few of his many talents. Family was extremely important to Emerson. He loved his family and they loved him back. Emerson was preceded in death by his parents. Also preceding him in death was his eldest Son, Duvall, his Grandson, Kenyari and his Granddaughter Ashley. Much too soon, Emerson left to mourn his wife, Teresa. Emerson and Teresa were soulmates. They went on their first date on July 1, 1990 and lived as one until Emerson took his final journey, riding his red bike forever. They were married on May 17, 1997. Emerson is also survived by Children: Norkisha Bethel of Nassau, Bahamas, Emerson Frith of Houston, TX, Valentino Bethel of Nassau, Bahamas, Brittney Frith of Chicago and LaWanda Cooper (James) of Loves Park, IL Grandchildren, Amanda, DaVonna, Jada, James, Jazmyn, Jordyn, Keyon, Kamara, Michael, Taijhela, Tamiko, Seth, Dominicka, Keno, Shannon, Shandera, Elijah, Valentino, Valentisha, Valenkeno, Valoriee, Antonette, Lashano, Valentina and Lanish Siblings: Wendy, Sammy, Shavonne and Sandra To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Emerson E Frith please visit our Sympathy Store.
