Elaine Dunkle, age 71 of Clare, passed away Friday, June 5, 2020. She had recently entered the Woodland Hospice House in Mt. Pleasant. Elaine was born the daughter of the late Walter and Ardis (Meisenheimer) Haberichter on February 1, 1949 in Hart. Elaine was a graduate of Scottville High School. She had worked for Chemical Bank for 30 years; starting out as a Teller and finishing her career as a Lending Officer. Following her retirement from Chemical Bank she became a local driver for the Amish. Elaine loved her kittens and donkeys, and spending time gardening in her flowerbeds. She enjoyed baking and was well known for chocolate chip and sugar cookies, but most of all for the popcorn balls she made. Elaine had been an active member of the Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Clare County, having served as the Treasurer for 21 years. Elaine is survived by her brother Dennis Haberichter; nieces and nephews Jamie Haberichter and husband Tim Pinto of Ann Arbor, and their children Brady, Harper and Evan; Jen Kulman of Howell and son Wyatt; Mike Haberichter and wife Michele of Algonac, and their children Hudson and Reagan; Matt Haberichter and wife Kristle of Cedar and their daughter Avery; special friends Dave and Tammy Miller and Tom Knoll. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Simon and Barbara Yoder, 10885 Leaton Road, Clare, Michigan 48617. Visitation will begin at 4 P.M. with a service to start at 5 P.M. with a dinner immediately follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Pardee Cancer Treatment Fund of Clare County or Mid Michigan Hospice. Arrangements were handled by the Clare Chapel of Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home.
