Edward’s Obituary E. Longmeadow- Edward J. Larivee, Jr., 75, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020, at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. A former resident of Chicopee, Edward was the son of the late Josephine (Casci) and Edward J. Larivee, Sr. Edward graduated from Holyoke Trade High School and was employed at Westover Air Force Base as a plumber and pipefitter for more than 20 years, retiring in 2000. After retiring from Westover, Edward worked at Lowe’s Home Improvement Center for a number of years. Edward was also a long-time employee of the Eastern States Exposition, where he enjoyed working the Big Yellow Slide and Gate 7 for many years. In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by a daughter, Kellie L. Larivee in 2000, and by his sister, Laura A. Duprey, in 2013. Edward is survived by his son, Justin J. Larivee, of Belchertown, a daughter, Jessica M. Walts and her husband, Joshua, of Westfield, his grandsons, Maximus Larivee and Nikolas Walts, and his niece, Dina Duprey-Crowley, of Chicopee. Calling hours for Edward will be held on two separate days, at Corridan Funeral Home, 333 Springfield St., Chicopee. Justin Larivee and his family will be receiving visitors from 5 to 7p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2020. Jessica Walts and her family will be receiving visitors from 5 to 7p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2020. Edward’s funeral will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020, beginning at 9a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10a.m., in Holy Name Parish, 94 Springfield St., Chicopee, with committal in Fairview Cemetery. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center for the exceptional care that Edward received during the years that he was there.
