Earl’s Obituary Esker Earl Wallace, 88, of Blytheville, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Gosnell Health and Rehab Center. Born in Pontotoc, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Clyde and Mary Kidd Wallace. Earl was a well-known farmer in Mississippi County for many years. He also loved talking on his CB radio and was known as “Walking Stick” because he was tall and thin. When Earl retired from farming in 1995, he found a new passion, that of motor home camping. He loved the outdoors and worked as a campsite employee at Craighead Forest Park in Jonesboro for several years until returning to his home in Blytheville. During Earl’s life, he was fortunate to have found two women who loved him dearly. His first love was Bernice Odom Stout to whom he was married for 36 years until Bernice’s passing in December 1991. His last love was Barbara Hardesty Scrivner whom he married July 2009 until Barbara’s passing in December 2014. He is survived by 5 children, Wren Stout (Sue) of Ripley, Tennessee, Tim Stout (Teresa) of Blytheville, Roberta Colee (Dana Silas) of Jackson, Tennessee, Mary Eary (Ron) of Batesville, and Edwin Wallace (Paula Crowder) of Blytheville; step-children, Lisa Safstrom of Mt. Prospect, Illinois, Paula Darling of Galesburg, Illinois, Bill Scrivner, Jr. of Gepp, Arkansas, and Tom Scrivner of Osceola; a beloved sister and best friend, Helen Jones of Blytheville; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Gosnell Health and Rehab Center, for all their love, support and care for their father since June 2019. They would especially like to thank all the employees who held their father’s hand, hugged him, prayed for him and shed tears for him during the last week of his life. It was Earl’s desire to have his grandsons be pallbearers at his funeral. Pallbearers will be Edwin Wallace, Jr., Jeffrey Wallace, David Stout, Jonathan Myers, Michael Stout, Matthew Stout, Brandon Marchbanks and Bret Marchbanks. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all services will be private with immediate family only. Pastor Dianne Mullins, long time neighbor and friend, and Pastor Donald Tims will be officiating.
