He departed this earthly life on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at his home in Lanham, MD with family by his side. He was a loving Son, Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Brother-in-law, Granddaddy, and a loyal Friend. Charlie Cain Jr. was preceded in death by his son Charlie Thomas Cain, and his brother Melvin Shavio Cain. Charlie leaves to cherish his fond and precious memory, his devoted wife of 55 years, Mary Emma Cain; three children: Wargaret Phelicia Renay Cain (Terrence), Gustavus Caryar Bartex Cain, and Shawnda Darlene Bass (Totsey); twelve grandchildren: Bre’ona (Anthony Jr.), Aisha (Darnell), Brian, Shamika, Chauncey, Charnise, Nihja, Kaybria, Gariq, Samiah, Jayden, and Jairus; 8 greatgrandchildren: Anthony III, Lauren, Londyn, Korri, Tatum, Titus, Charlie, and Aire; sisters Janie Mae (William) Wells and Ms. Dorothy Cain-Wright; brothers: John W. (Viola) Cain, and Harry M. Cain and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends, all who will miss him dearly. J. B. Jenkins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
