Carolyn Sue (Schmitz) Dobbs 80 of Centralia passed away on Monday August 10, 2020 at St. Mary Hospital. She was born October 15, 1939 in Centralia the daughter of Wilbert (Wib) and Henrietta (Heinzmann) Schmitz. She married Warren R. Dobbs on April 19, 1959 in Centralia, IL. Mrs. Dobbs is survived by her husband of 61 years, Warren R. Dobbs of Centralia; two sons Daniel Ray Dobbs and wife Martha of Centralia and Bradley Allen Dobbs and wife Terri of Centralia; four grandchildren Matthew Dobbs of Edwardsville, Leah Johnson and husband Jimmy of Wisconsin, Megan Chillson of Centralia and Kaitlin Sprehe and husband Daniel of Collinsville; two grand grandchildren Jemma and Allie Johnson of Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father in law; Edna and Herb Dobbs. She was a dental assistant before beginning work at Dobbs Bargain City where she worked until her retirement and the closing of the store in 1998. She enjoyed mowing her yard, watching birds, spending time at Raccoon lake, watching Cardinals baseball and HSN. Most of all she enjoyed the time spent with family and friends. Per Carolyn’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
