Aloysius “Al” Horsman, 93, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at the North Park Nursing Home. Al was born March 23, 1927 in Whitesville, KY to the late Joseph and Theresa (Howard) Horsman. He was a graduate of FJ Reitz High School. He enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 17 and served in World War II. He retired from the Evansville City Fire Department in 1974 after 21 years of service. After a couple of years of retirement, Al went back to work serving as the State Fire Marshall for the next seven years. Surviving Al are his wife of 50 years, Colleen (Funkhouser) Horsman; stepdaughter, Delta (Danny) Henard and two stepsons, Michael (Vickie) Adams and John (Karla) Adams. Also surviving are seven step grandchildren and many step great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by a stepson, Leslie Adams and by eleven siblings. Funeral services for Al will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2020 at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Terry Gamblin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 1040 N.
