Ralph’s Obituary Ralph Edwin Fulp passed away July 19 from natural causes, aged 99 ½ years. Born in Halifax County, Va., January 1921, he was raised on a tobacco farm where he worked dawn to dusk. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy 1942. He was a SeaBee serving in the South Pacific until the end of World War II. Ralph’s career was spent in the shoe business in Washington, D.C., and Oklahoma. At one point he owned three shoe stores in small towns in northeast Oklahoma. After retiring, he loved to travel in his motorhome all over USA and Canada. He then settled in Palacios, Texas on the Gulf until moving to Newport seven years ago. He lived at River Mountain Village Assisted Living. His family would like to thank all the staff at River Mountain, especially Michele Page and Jenny Cooper. Survivors are his son Ralph, Jr., (wife Susan) of Priest River, and grandchildren Brian Fulp and Colleen Alabi; also, his daughter Barbara Hart (husband Garnet) of Weyburn, Saskatchewan and grandchildren David Currie, Dorian Currie and Gina Lester. Mr. Fulp is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Sherman-Campbell Funeral & Cremation Services in Newport is in charge of arrangements.
