It is with great sadness that the family of John David Hayes, announce his passing on July 26, 2020 in Wichita, KS. He was 61. He was born on May 21, 1959 in Wichita, KS.

He will be lovingly remembered by: His loving wife Debra L. Hayes of 33 years, siblings, James Hayes, Marilyn Hayes Long, and Jeanine Hayes Howard, sister in-law Kathy Fenno, nieces and nephews Shellie and Royce Otto, Amanda Howard, Phaedra Fenno, and Ian and Tricia Fenno, and great nieces and nephews; Clover Fenno, Austin Otto, and Myles Fenno.

Preceded in death by his parents; Warren and Chloe Hayes, stepdaughter Shawn Hunter, brother in law Gail D Fenno, father and mother in law Howard W. and Esther R. Fenno.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Harry Hynes Hospice for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Inpatient Unit 929 N. St. Francis 8NW Wichita, KS 67214.

John David Hayes was a graduate of Valley Center High School class of 1977. David’s first job was a cook at O’Dell’s Alpine Inn. His 2nd job of 39 years was with Missouri Pacific Railroad/ Union Pacific Railroad as a Switchman/Brakeman/ Conductor and Foreman from August 16, 1977 thru September 16, 2016, at which time he retired from the Railroad. His hobbies included driving and doing burnouts, with Braeden Woodson, in his Shelby GT500 Cobra. He was also an avid gun collector and a good shot.
