Obituary Michael Alyn Boze, 44, of Carterville, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2020, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. A memorial visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville. Memorial contributions can be made to the Family, in care of Sarah Boze or Barbara Boze. Michael was born October 5, 1975, in Herrin, to Keith Alyn and Barbara Ann (Long) Boze. He married Sarah Elizabeth Gooden on April 5, 2003, in Carbondale. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Boze of Carterville; daughter, Ashleigh Russell of Carbondale; parents, Keith (Barbara) Boze of Carterville; granddaughter, Kinsley Russell; brother, Joshua Adam Boze of Carterville; grandmother, Amy Long of Cambria; in-laws, Marsha (Carey) Russell and Carl (Shonna) Gooden, all of Herrin; brother-in-law, Joshua (Jessica) Russell of West Frankfort; paternal grandfather, David Greathouse of Pittsburg; his beloved dogs, Buster and Kobe; and many dear friends. Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clarence Long. He was a tow truck driver for S.I. Towing and Recovery in Marion and had the CB handle, “Big Bear”. Michael was the former Bush Fire Chief and firefighter for Williamson County Fire Station #2.
